Etihad and Air Serbia Collab To Expand Connectivity in Europe

Etihad Airways and Air Serbia have announced the launch of a strategic bilateral codeshare that would improve connectivity for both carriers’ passengers travelling to various European destinations.
Through Air Serbia’s Belgrade hub, Etihad’s clients can now easily access 12 Southeast European destinations, nine of which are brand-new to Etihad’s expanded network, thanks to this collaboration.

The codeshare agreement streamlines travellers’ experience by enabling them to make a single reservation, check in with ease, and enjoy the extra convenience of having their luggage carried to their destination with ease.

Customers of Etihad can connect to Air Serbia’s network easily through Etihad’s gateways located in Athens, Milan, Rome, and Vienna.

Jurriaan Stelder, the Vice President of Alliances and Industry Affairs at Etihad, said, “This partnership further expands our codeshare network and provides our guests with convenient access to 12 of Air Serbia’s leisure and business destinations, including Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Skopje and Sofia.

“We also look forward to warmly welcoming Air Serbia customers travelling from Europe to Abu Dhabi, where they will have the opportunity to explore the inviting hospitality and rich culture of our home, including the stunning beaches, world-class cultural landmarks and theme parks, and the serene desert landscapes.”

Boško Rupić, the General Manager of Commercial and Strategy at Air Serbia, said, “By joining forces with Etihad we expand the reach of our services, offering our passengers a wider array of destinations and connectivity options.

“This translates into more choices, flexibility, and convenience for those who choose Air Serbia for their journeys. Passengers will now enjoy the ease of booking connecting flights and checking in once for their entire journey.”

Etihad Guest is both airlines’ loyalty programme, which entitles users access to tier status privileges as well as the ability to collect and redeem Etihad Guest miles throughout the networks of both Etihad Airways and Air Serbia.

This new codeshare strategy will be effective from 30 January 2024, for flights commencing 3 February 2024.
