Muscat Airport Launches New Boarding Rules

Passengers at Muscat International Airport, Oman, have been introduced to stricter boarding rules for travelling to or via the country.

From August 4, 2024, new changes including adjusting the timings in the boarding pass system (PBS) area, located after the check-in counters and before passport control, will be implemented.

According to the new rule, passengers must pass through this checkpoint 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. However, the departure gates will close 20 minutes before the departure time, as always.

A notice was issued by Muscat International Airport to inform the travellers of the new change which can ensure seamless processing of operations along with timely departure of flights. Passengers will be able to complete passport control and security checks more effortlessly due to this change in time duration.

All travellers are advised to follow the implemented change to guarantee a smooth journey.

After the airport made the announcement, Oman Air, the Sultunate’s local airline, also put out a notice informing their passengers of the same. Their check-in procedures “remain unchanged and will close 60 minutes before flight departure time”.
