Air Arabia, one of the leading low-cost carriers in the Middle East and North Africa, has revealed major news for travellers. Starting 29 March 2026, the airline will launch Sharjah-London direct flights, operating twice a day between Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick Airport.
The new service will operate two flights per day, every day, giving passengers greater flexibility and more convenient travel options between the UAE and the UK.
This expansion further strengthens Air Arabia’s growing network from its Sharjah hub, making travel between the two destinations more affordable and accessible for both leisure and business passengers.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, highlighted the importance of the new route. “Introducing flights to London Gatwick marks a significant milestone for us,” he said. “It reflects our commitment to offering reliable, value-for-money travel across major cities. Passengers trust Air Arabia for affordability, and this route is another step in that direction.”
He added, “London Gatwick enhances connectivity from Sharjah, providing travellers with a dependable, low-cost option. Whether you’re travelling for business or a holiday, the additional direct flights offer greater convenience. We’re excited to welcome our passengers onboard.”
Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer at London Gatwick, expressed equal enthusiasm. “There is growing demand for Middle East routes among travellers from London and the South East,” he stated. “We’re pleased to welcome another popular airline to our airport. With the newly approved regular use of our Northern Runway, this is the perfect time for Air Arabia to join our network. We look forward to serving passengers travelling to cultural Sharjah and beyond.”
Bookings are already open, and seats can be reserved through Air Arabia’s website, call centre, or authorised travel agents. The route will be operated by the modern Airbus A321neo LR aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort.
Air Arabia’s fleet consists entirely of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in the region.
Passengers can enjoy added benefits on board. ‘SkyTime,’ the airline’s free streaming service, lets travellers watch movies and shows on their personal devices, while the ‘SkyCafe’ menu offers affordable snacks and meals. Members of ‘Air Rewards,’ the airline’s generous loyalty programme, can earn and redeem points on every flight.
With twice-daily flights and low fares, Air Arabia is set to make travel between the UAE and the UK easier, more convenient, and more budget-friendly than ever before.
