Air Canada, the only Canadian airline to officially connect the capital directly to Europe, announced the resumption of non-stop international flights from Ottawa to London Heathrow starting on March 31, 2025. The Ottawa-London flights will be operated four times a week with their Dreamliner fleet.
Mark Galardo, the Executive Vice President of Air Canada, said, “We are excited to announce that Air Canada will be starting trans-Atlantic services to and from London next spring. Heathrow is one of the world’s major global gateways and also the location of Air Canada’s largest international operations. Air Canada, along with its Star Alliance partner airlines, offers easy connections to over 30 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa. We eagerly anticipate the future arrival of Air Canada’s upcoming fleet of Airbus A321XLR. The economics, ideal cabin size, and range of the XLR, set to commence delivery in late 2025, will allow us to explore the possibility of operating this crucial international route more frequently, potentially offering year-round service.”
Resuming Ottawa-London direct flights by Air Canada marks a noteworthy achievement. As the only airline operating this direct route from Canada’s capital to Europe, Air Canada is enhancing both its global reach and dedication to delivering top-notch service. Passengers will have an upgraded travel experience with the arrival of the Airbus A321XLR and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on this route.
