In response to the increasing demand for travel between the UK and the Bangalore region of India, Air India will begin offering a direct Bengaluru-London Gatwick (LGW/EGKK) flight service from 18 August of this year.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, equipped with Air India’s business class cabin with eighteen lie-flat beds, will be used for the new Bengaluru-London Gatwick flight service five times a week.
Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director at Air India, said in a statement, “We are delighted to offer our guests convenient, nonstop flights between Bengaluru and London Gatwick. This new route caters to the growing demand for travel between these two important business and leisure destinations, and strengthens our commitment to expanding our global network.”
The Air India Flight will be operated from Bengaluru on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 1:05 pm, and will arrive at London Gatwick at 7:05 pm. Again the return flights will be operated on the same days, which will start from London Gatwick at 8:35 pm and will arrive at Bengaluru the next morning at 10:50 am.
Travellers will have an additional UK option with London Gatwick since both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways fly from London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) to Bengaluru.
