British Airways Plans a Record-breaking Summer of North America-London Flights

During its busiest weeks, British Airways will offer over 400 direct flights per week between North America and London, setting a record number of flights between the two destinations for summer 2025.

The airline is the only one in Europe to provide a first-class luxury cabin across the Atlantic, and it conducts nonstop flights to London from 26 US locations. It also has the most transatlantic flights of any European carrier.

The increased number of flights to London Heathrow (LHR) offered by British Airways during the summer includes an additional daily flight from Miami, Florida, bringing the total to 14 flights per week; an extra six flights per week from Austin, Texas, bringing the total to 13 services per week; an extra three flights per week during peak months from Las Vegas, Nevada, bringing the weekly total to 10; an additional flight per week from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; an additional daily flight from Washington, DC, bringing the total to 21 flights per week; and an increase of 7 flights per week from Vancouver, bringing the total weekly flights to 14.
Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, commented on the upcoming changes: “We continue to grow our network, and these additional services across the US reflect the growing demand for travel to and from London. We are committed to providing our customers with greater choice and convenience, and we are excited to offer more opportunities for them to experience our world-class service.”

British Airways has added six new flights from US cities in the past ten years: Pittsburgh in 2019, Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2018, Portland, Oregon, in 2022, and Cincinnati in 2023.

A third daily flight from London to Delhi (DEL) has been added to British Airways’ worldwide route network, increasing the total number of flights to India to 63 per week across five destinations. There will be seven weekly flights from Cancun (CUN) to London Gatwick (LGW) starting next summer, and a second daily route from Heathrow to Florence (FLR) has been added.
