Europe Sees a 46% Rise in Cancelled Flights in June

In Europe, the number of cancelled flights increased by 46% in the previous month, making it more difficult for travellers to enjoy their vacations abroad at the beginning of the summer.

In contrast, aviation analytics firm Cirium’s data shows a 16% decline in the Asia Pacific region.

Additionally, European airlines were graded based on their punctuality throughout the month and none of the UK’s airlines made it into the top 10.

With 84.08% of its flights arriving on time in June, Icelandair emerged as the leader, followed by Iberia Express at 82.5% and its parent carrier Iberia at 77.08%.

There were 145 cancelled flights from European airports on June 8.

With an on-time performance rate of 88.2%, Saudia, a Saudi Arabian carrier, took the No.#1 spot from Aeromexico globally, which had occupied that spot for the prior two months.
