There will be 100 new jobs generated in the south of England as a result of the spectacular launch of jet2 flights at Bournemouth Airport, including roles as flight attendants, ground operations, and customer support representatives.
Steve Heapy, the CEO of Jet2, expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “We know that customers want to be properly looked after in their holiday experience, and that is why we are making a significant investment in the region, including creating over 100 new jobs to do that. From today, we are counting down to the start of operations from Bournemouth Airport when we can satisfy customers, just as we have with millions of other customers from across the UK for so many years.”
To handle one million passengers this year, Bournemouth Airport plans to invest approximately £5 million in enhancements and improvements. A notable accomplishment is Jet2’s base at Bournemouth Airport, which was followed by an increase in flights by TUI and Ryanair, the operational airlines.
Andrew Bell, the Chief Executive Officer at Regional City Airports, expressed that Jet2 choosing Bournemouth as their base “will produce new employment locally, add 16 fabulous new destinations from Bournemouth, up to 27 extra flights a week, and estimated additional 300,000 passengers using the airport.”
