For the fiscal year that ends in March 2024, Jet2 PLC, which operates business under the Jet2.com and Jet2 Holiday brands, reported a 24% increase in sales compared to the prior year.
The UK travel agency and airline reported sales of £6,225.3 million in the most recent year, up from £5,033.5 million in 2023. Operating profit increased by 9% to £428.2 million (2023: £394.0 million).
The rise was made possible by a larger margin per passenger on flights and holidays in addition to a 9% increase in passengers, from 16.22 million to 17.72 million.
Sales of summer 2024 tickets are 12.4% greater than those of the previous summer, suggesting that growth will persist.
Jet2 has been able to fully commit to its new aircraft due to the growing confidence. It has now exercised all of its options on Airbus A321neo airliners, increasing the number of firm orders it has for the type to 146.
Jet2 has a well-established facility in Liverpool with high demand, and they plan to open their 12th UK base at Bournemouth Airport in 2025.
Looking ahead, the company claims that despite the unpredictable economic climate, it is certain that the “end to end” package holiday market is a “resilient and popular product” for Jet2 consumers, laying down its goals to be the UK’s leading (and greatest) leisure travel firm.
