From the end of October, Qatar Airways will be adding another Heathrow-Doha daily flight, increasing the total number of daily flights between the two destinations to 8 and the total number of weekly flights to 56. This decision came into action as a result of “strong customer demand.”
Additionally, Qatar has scheduled more frequent flights between its hub in Doha and Miami, Male, and Tokyo. During the busiest winter season of 2024–2025, the airline will run 12 weekly flights to Miami, 28 weekly flights to Male, and 11 weekly flights to Tokyo.
The state carrier of Qatar attributed all these additional flights to “increased demand from passengers.”
Beginning on October 27, when the winter schedule officially begins, there will be one more Heathrow-Doha daily flight. These flights will leave Heathrow every day at 15:30 and arrive in Doha at 01:10 the following day, and the return flights will depart Doha at 09:30 and arrive in Heathrow at 14:05.
By connecting with subsequent flights to Australia, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria, the services will increase Qatar’s weekly capacity on the Heathrow-Doha route to 42,000 seats.
Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways chief commercial officer, said, “Qatar Airways’ is strengthening its commitment to the UK. Growing to 56 flights a week, the most of any Gulf carrier, reinforces our long-standing relationship with Heathrow Airport, as well as our unique strategic alliance with British Airways.”
The airline and British Airways collaborate on business ventures. British Airways also operates two daily flights between Heathrow and Doha.
Antinori added, “Our increased flights during the winter holiday season come as a response to the needs of our passengers.”
20 per cent of Heathrow Airport shares are owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, while Qatar Airways owns a 25 per cent share in the parent company of British Airways, International Airlines Group (IAG).
