The ‘Protocol to Enhance Global Aviation Safety and Public Health Resilience’ was released by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to prevent the transmission of infectious illnesses via aviation and improve air travel safety.
During the Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA) Joint Meeting in Germany, the UAE delegation delivered the Protocol.
The Protocol emphasises immediate reporting by operators’ stations and cooperation with local health authorities, according to the GCAA release.
The Protocol’s creative approach to reducing the serious public health dangers connected to air travel has achieved comprehensive praise from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and member governments.
The significance of the Protocol to improve air travel safety was highlighted by Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, GCAA Director-General, who reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to international aviation safety and public health resilience through cooperative efforts with partners worldwide.
