British Airways Expands Network with Agadir, Stansted, and Dubai

British Airways has decided to expand its network of routes in 2024 by adding Agadir, Morocco; Stansted, London; and Dubai, UAE.

Agadir, a city along Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast, is the latest addition to British Airways’ network of routes from London Gatwick. These flights will be operated four times a week by the airline’s Gatwick short-haul subsidiary, BA Euroflyer, from March 31, 2024.

Agadir is now the second Moroccan destination on British Airways’ route map after Marrakech, making it available to British Airways customers for the first time after more than a decade. The tickets for the route have already gone on sale.

Tom Stoddart, the CEO of BA Euroflyer, said, “Agadir is a coastal destination that enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, so we know it will see strong demand from our leisure customers and particularly those seeking holiday packages. It offers beaches, golf courses, and water sports alongside the opportunity to experience cultural landmarks, such as Agadir Kasbah.”

Return flights from London Gatwick to Agadir start at £138.

Travellers choosing to fly from London Stansted in the summer of 2024 will now have a new premium airline option with British Airways, which will be launching weekend flights from London Stansted to Florence, Ibiza, and Nice on May 18 on its Embraer 190 aircraft.

The new Stansted services will complement the existing weekday services from London City. Stansted will now become the fourth London airport operated by British Airways, and it will be the first time the flag carrier has offered scheduled flights from the airport since pre-pandemic.

Flights will be available from £41 each way to Florence, £36 each way to Ibiza, and £43 each way to Nice.

On every trip on both routes, Agadir & Stansted, passengers will have an option between two cabins: Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy). Customers who purchase the Euro Traveller cabin receive a complimentary drink and snack, while those who purchase the Club Europe cabin receive additional luggage allowance, priority boarding, lounge access, and a full meal service with bar drinks.

The Dubai flights by British Airways will be part of the Avios-Only flight, offering more than 200 half-term return reward seats for just £100 + 60,000 Avios.

The BA105 from London Heathrow to Dubai will offer 214 reward seats across three cabins on October 26, 2024. The BA108 will return a week later, on November 2, 2024, with 256 seats up for grabs across four cabins, perfectly in time for a half-term getaway.

The seats acquired with Avios at fixed prices are known as reward seats. On regular short-haul and long-haul flights, British Airways guarantees a minimum of 12 and 14 reward seats, respectively, but on Avios-Only flights, every seat is buyable with Avios. Members can book any cabin on the Avios-Only flight through their official website, just like they normally would.
