With two of its resorts gaining global recognition, Seychelles, the archipelago country in East Africa, shone yet again at the World Travel Awards 2022.
The red carpet event of the 29th edition of the World Travel Awards grand final gala ceremony was held on the 11th of November in Muscat, Oman, during which the awards were announced.
This prestigious award ceremony celebrates and rewards excellence in key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries and is attended by the leading travel industry figureheads and decision-makers from across the world.
During this awards ceremony, the winners of different categories are selected based on the votes of the public and industry personnel and for the third consecutive year, Seychelles won the title of “World’s Most Romantic Destination 2022” after competing against other popular destinations, like Antigua and Barbuda, Bali and Maldives.
Sherin Francis, Seychelles’ tourism principal secretary, extended her gratitude and appreciation to all the partners who have paved the way for such an achievement and spoke about how Seychelles is constantly working on providing excellence to the visitors in a press release for the Seychelles Tourism Board.
Out of 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean that make up Seychelles, North Island is one of the 44 inner islands. This resort Island was built in 2003 and features 11 private luxury villas. Nicknamed “The Island of Love,” North Island was named “World’s Leading Luxury Private Island Resort 2022” during the ceremony.
For the fourth year consecutively since 2017, JA Enchanted Island Resort, located on Round Island in the Sainte Anne Marine National Park, has been awarded the title of “World’s Leading Private Island Resort 2022” for the fourth year in a row.
